This artist doll is my representation of the Middle Eastern King’s anticipation of seeing Baby Jesus.
- His head, hands and feet are hand sculpted from Premo polymer clay.
- His face and skin tone are hand painted with Genesis paints.
- He has a wire armature that includes wired fingers and a rod that secures his sitting position unto the camel.
- His hair, beard and eyebrows are black lamb’s wool.
- His long robe and pants are made from Thai silk with Indian silk on the sleeves and pant cuffs
- His head covering is cotton.
- The leather boots are handmade with a metal trim and clay soles.
- His crown is a metal fabric trim.
- His gift is a reassembled covered brass goblet from India.
- The long sword is a letter opener and removable, held in place by a red leather belt.
- The large leather camel is from India.
- Its saddle/seat is covered in black velour and a Turkish rug/bookmark.
- The camel covering is a Saudi Arabian textile with locally bought tassels.
- The camel necklace was created from Afghan Kuchi tribal metal jewelry.
- On its forehead is the “Hand of Fatima” pendant with the “evil eye“ protector for the traveler
